Now complete with it's 5 black granite walls bearing full-color seals of each branch of the U.S Miliatry and the full names of area veterans both living and dead who served in the Vietnam war, Fields Of Freedom is a tribute that honors those brave men and women who have committed or sacrificed their lives in protection of our freedoms.

Ceremonies were presided by Glenn Ledger and the keynote address was delivered by guest speaker and City Manager Mike Kunst, who is a veteran of the Iraq War.

Overall, veterans of 5 foreign wars attended the re-dedication.

The Vidor Lions Club started work on the park in 2008, and the first dedication was held November 11, 2012.
