Come on out to Claiborne Park June 15, 2018 for the Orange County Sheriff's Office 23rd Annual Cops N Kids Picnic with Sheriff Keith Merritt. The Orange County Sheriff's Office invites ALL children to join us for free food, free rides, free games and the opportunity to meet and hang out with members of all area Emergency Services. There will be plenty of refreshments such as hot dogs, chips, drinks, and watermelons.

Nehemiah's Vision Continues Helping Community Along Road To Recovery

More than 9 months after the tragic event (Harvey) that has forever changed all of our lives. Nehemiah's Vision continues to look for ways to help our community along the road to recovery. This group from Alabama was volunteering in the Maplecrest area off of Woodlawn. Their efforts to assist our citizens in the road to recovery by cleaning and hauling off debris should not go unnoticed. We would like to extend our sincerest appreciation and encourage all citizens to thank these individuals for their helping hand.

Golden Triangle Seminoles To Host Conference Championship

Christmas came early for the Golden Triangle Seminoles, as they received both of their wishes. The Seminoles wanted a rematch to avenge their second loss of the regular season against the Texas Red Raiders, and they got it. Their second wish was to host the Conference Championship Game, they got that, too.     

If the Seminoles win and they're on their way to Houston to play in the TUFA Superbowl. 

Kickoff is set for 5pm this Saturday the 9th at Vidor Pirate Stadium.

Vidor To Host A National Checkers Tournament June 1-2


Vidor, Texas is hosting a National Checkers Tournament!

The Second Annual District 8 and Texas State Championship Checkers Tournament will be held in Vidor on June 1-2, 2018 at The Holiday Inn Express. The Vidor Tournament is recognized as one of the National Tournaments in America.

  • First Prize - $750
  • Adult Tournament Registration - $40
  • Novice Division Registration - FREE
  • Children and Youth Division Registration - FREE
  •  All ages are welcome, children encouraged!
  • Registration will begin at 8 a.m. on Friday June 1st

 The tournament will be a 3-move ballot opening tournament for the ACF Sanctioned Tournament. The winner will be the District 8 Champion, which is a five state area of Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Kansas. The Texas resident that wins will be recognized as the Texas State Checkers Champion.

The Amateur Championship will be a Go-As-You-Please.
