CITY OF VIDOR PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, with a great desire to develop a healthy, drug free lifestyle as a community standard for our youth and all residents residing in our City; and
WHEREAS, the "Red Ribbon" Campaign began as a passionate, grass roots expression of concern; and
WHEREAS, through the "Red Ribbon" Campaign, communities have expressed an attitude of intolerance for alcohol and drug abuse; and
WHEREAS, in Texas, the "Red Ribbon" Campaign is undertaken and promoted by all Texas cities, communities and schools as our war on drugs; and
WHEREAS, our Vidor Independent School District has already received national recognition in the great State of Texas for their efforts in achieving a drug free atmosphere in our schools.
NOW THEREFORE, I, Robert Viator, Mayor of the City of Vidor, Texas, do hereby proclaim the week of October 29, 2018 – November 2, 2018 as:RED RIBBON WEEK
And urge all citizens to wear and display red ribbons during this observance to help present a unified and visible commitment of promoting a drug free community and Texas War on Drugs.

Join us Wednesday October 31 from 6pm to 8pm for our 1st annual Truck or Treat. We will be at 2400 Hwy 12 in Vidor Texas at the Oak Forest Elementary parking lot. We will be giving out candy and other goodies for the kids. If you would like to donate candy or other treats, you can drop them off at 2351 Hwy 12 at the fire station. Let make this great!
